2024-2025 Groups:

All Member

Every person who registered is included in this group. We will hold monthly all member activities. such as making sandwiches for the shelter, ice skating, awards night and service projects. Sylvia Kavanaugh can be contacted about this group.

Archery

Archery is open to anyone 4-H age 9 and above. It will be held at the St. Mary’s gym over the winter break: Dec 23, 27, 28, 30, Jan 3, & 4 and again in the spring: Mar 28, 29, 30, Apr 4, 5, & 6. The meeting time is 4-6:30 pm. The leaders are Bryan Ellsworth and Diana Fogler.

MWR Archery

This group is a partnership with the Coast Guard recreation department and 4H. It is only open to MWR youth ages 10 and up. They have already finished for the season. We thank Jennifer Simeonoff and Velma Vining for making this group a success.

Arts and Crafts

This group is intended for ages 8 and up. The leaders are Kate Schaberg and Rebecca Lightenburg. The idea is to have local artists lead the kids in a art/craft activity. Dates and times have not been released yet.

Beginning Breads

This group is a beginning baking class geared for kids ages 9 and up and it has already begun. They will meet Nov 13, 20, Dec 18, Jan 1, 15, & 25. Barbara Zimmerman and Lisa Palmer lead this group.

Cloverbuds

This is a group specifically tailored to 5-7 year-olds. They will play games, do crafts and all sorts of fun things. The leaders for this group are Kate Schaberg and Barbara Zimmerman.

Gardening

This group is for anyone who is willing to plant, care for and harvest plants. In the past they have worked at the community gardens and this last year they were in a hoop house. This group will start meeting in the spring. Dates and times will be determined by the weather. It is led by Barbara Zimmerman and Lisa Palmer.

Horse

Horse is all about learning how to care for your horse, train it and show it—so you must have your own horse to be able to participate. Participants must be at least 8. They will start in the spring.

Outdoor Recreation

This group is open for ages 8 and up. The goal is to get outside and do things like: hiking, geocaching, canoeing, etc. The leaders for this group are Velma Vining and Alyssa Martin. Dates and times have not been released yet.

Rifle

Rifle is a shooting group with Velma Vining as the leader. This group will start in the spring.

Specialty Baking

This group is for experienced bakers aged 8 and up. They will meet once a month. The leaders are Barbara Zimmerman and Lisa Palmer. More information is yet to come
