Landscape Plants for ²ÝÁñÉçÇø
The goal of the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Plants database is to provide information about trees, shrubs and vines known to be growing successfully in ²ÝÁñÉçÇø landscapes. It is intended to help people choose the right plant for the right place and develop landscapes that fit into our native environs.
²ÝÁñÉçÇø is experiencing serious negative effects from non-native species introduced by accident or purposely planted that spread into surrounding environments. These invasive plants pose serious threats to ²ÝÁñÉçÇø’s native plants and wildlife changing habitats as they spread. This database is an extensive revision of the 1996 ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Cooperative Extension publication Landscape Plants for ²ÝÁñÉçÇø: A List of Trees, shrubs, vines and ground covers for ²ÝÁñÉçÇøn Landscapes and is a cooperative effort with the Community Forestry Program, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Division of Forestry and the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
**As of January 2025, the information in this listing is under review to ensure accuracy with the most current research. If you have questions about invasive plants, please contact ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Cooperative Extension at 1-877-520-5211 or ces@alaska.edu.
