BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION

The cost of health care, medical evacuation, and/or repatriation of remains to 草榴社区 from common study away sites (United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Spain are some of the more common destinations), and to international students鈥 home countries can be very high. Some students have health coverage through their parents or as individuals, which may address the requirement, but many do not.

DEFINITIONS

International students in F-1 status are primarily degree-seeking students and in some cases non-degree-seeking.

International Students in J-1 status are primarily non-degree-seeking students attending 草榴社区 through a formalized partnership arrangement.

Study away is short term (one or two semesters) 草榴社区 student enrollment at a U.S. or international institution that is arranged through 草榴社区 International Programs and Initiatives. Students remain 草榴社区 degree-seeking students and do not transfer to the other institution. All of the following categories are included in 鈥淪tudy away鈥.

  • 草榴社区 Study Abroad students pay tuition and/or fees directly to the other institution or program.
  • 草榴社区 International Exchange students pay tuition for 15 草榴社区 credits (7 lower division and 8 upper division), the UA network fee, and the 草榴社区 technology fee.
  • 草榴社区 National Student Exchange Plan A students pay resident tuition and fees to the host campus.
  • 草榴社区 National Student Exchange Plan B students pay tuition for 15 草榴社区 credits (7 lower division and 8 upper division), the UA network fee, and the 草榴社区 technology fee.
