Register for URSA's Mentor Development Workshop: Jan. 28-29
URSA is hosting a two-day, in-person Mentor Development Workshop for 草榴社区 mentors of undergraduate students in all disciplines led by trainers from the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in partnership with the Marine Science Laboratory Alliance Center of Excellence (MarSci-LACE).
The MarSci-LACE-developed Mentor Development Workshop is a five-hour training that interactively engages potential Undergraduate Research Experience mentors through the following five training modules: Introduction to Mentoring, Psychosocial Factors of Internships, Ally Skills, Culturally Responsive Mentoring and Mentor Plan Development. These MDW training modules provide an overview of mentorship, emphasizing its mutual benefits for both the mentor and the mentee. Workshop participants will receive tools and resources for use in their own mentorship. Mentors of every level will find value in participating.
Workshop Information:
- When: Tuesday, Jan. 28 AND Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025
- Time: 9 a.m. - noon on both days
- Where: Akasofu (IARC) Conference Room 501
The maximum registration for this event is 50 mentors and will be filled on a first come, first served basis for those who are able to attend in-person for both days.
Participation is encouraged for mentors of all levels and from all disciplines (STEM, Social Sciences, Arts, and more).
