Responsible Conduct of Research Training in January 2025

The VCR Office is hosting three training opportunities on Jan. 9-10, 2025 for key research personnel (faculty and staff). Once you’ve completed Responsible Conduct of Research training, it’s valid for four years, so if you’re due for a renewal, this is the perfect chance to jump in. Registration is open now.

For many fields, training in Responsible Conduct of Research is more than just a good idea — it’s a requirement set by major funding agencies like the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation. Even if it’s not mandatory for everyone (yet), I strongly encourage all key research personnel who haven’t taken it to dive in.

RCR training isn’t just about research involving animals or human subjects. It spans crucial topics like:

  • Data management: acquisition, sharing, and ownership,
  • Ethical publication practices and responsible authorship,
  • Mentorship: training, responsibilities, and relationships.

The training has two parts:

  1. Online module to be completed beforehand,
  2. Zoom session, lasting about four hours.

Together, they lay a strong foundation for ethical and responsible research at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø.
