Science, humanities faculty sought for URSA review board

Are you looking for service opportunities? Want to learn more about undergraduate research at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø? Have you ever wondered what it takes to get a proposal funded by URSA? Here’s your chance to find out!

URSA is seeking full-time and term faculty members to join the URSA review board. This group receives proposals for student projects and travel during the academic year and provides reviews. Each proposal is reviewed by four faculty — two from the sciences and two from the arts and humanities. There are five funding opportunities each academic year.

Each proposal round, we email the timeline, ask for reviewer volunteers, and allow two weeks for the reviewers to complete their scores. All the work is done online — no meetings to attend, no paper is wasted, etc. On average, each person receives two to six applications, and each one takes 5-10 minutes to evaluate. If you are unavailable for a proposal round, we’ll ask again for the next round. All reviews are double-blind, and we do not send applications from a mentor’s department to reviewers to avoid conflicts of interest.
