Our customer service center
The Facilities Services Customer Service Center provides a central point of contact for the campus community.
Questions and requests regarding any of the services provided by Facilities Services can be addressed by calling or emailing us.
In cooperation with the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Fire and Police Emergency Dispatch Center, we provide 24-hour customer service, 365 days a year.
Divisions and shops within our department
Facilities Services is composed of multiple divisions. The divisions include: Business Operations, Contracting Office, Design and Construction, Space Planning and Leasing, Maintenance & Operations, and Utilities. These units provide support to the University of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Fairbanks and the extended campuses located in Bethel, Nome, Kotzebue, Dillingham, Ft. Yukon, Tok, Nenana, McGrath, Delta, and Unalaska. In addition ²ÝÁñÉçÇø has research facilities located in Kodiak, Palmer, Juneau and Seward.

Business Operations provides budget, accounting and human resources services for Facilities Services (FS) in addition to other business functions in support of the university community.

The Contracting Office provides general support to Facilities Services in all areas related to the procurement life cycle, including construction, leasing, goods and services, central receiving, property management and staff training.

The Mission of Design and Construction is to define, plan, and develop the infrastructure, land, and facilities to meet the needs of the university and the community, and to provide engineering support for the maintenance, operations, design, and construction divisions of Facilities Services. The functional units within Design and Construction are Project Management, Facilities Engineering and AutoCad Support.
Space planning and leasing supports Facilities Services in all areas related to requests for on and off campus space.

The Maintenance and Operations divisions are responsible for upholding
the integrity, appearance, cleanliness, and safety of all buildings,
equipment, and infrastructure on the Troth Yeddha' (Fairbanks) campus
and in ²ÝÁñÉçÇø's remote campuses and research sites statewide. We manage a
substantial number of buildings, representing a majority of the
University of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø’s total square footage across the state. The
buildings we manage range in age between ten and ninety years old.

The Occupational Safety Officer (OSO) reports to the Director of EHSRM with a dotted line to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities. The charter of the OSO is to maximize available fiscal resources through the reduction of mishaps and workers compensation claims.
The Utilities Division operates ²ÝÁñÉçÇø’s combined heat and power plant (CHPP) that provides electric power, steam heat, and district-chilled/low grade heat water to campus. The utilities complex produces all power for the Troth Yeddha’ Campus (approximately 8MW) however has the generating capacity to produce up to 23MW of power. compressed air, high purity water to various research laboratories, and a 9.6MW backup diesel generator.
