After graduation, I decided it was time for me to pursue the activities that I could not quite fit into my busy schedule as an undergrad. I currently serve the ��������n Native population across all of �������� through Patient Travel Coordination at ANTHC. Here, I gain valuable experience learning about rural life and the health problems that plague rural ��������. I have fallen in love with the conversations that I have with people in distant villages who share their stories about subsistence gathering, 4-wheeling shenanigans, winter preparation, and much more.

I am also actively working on developing outreach programs for my local Veteran and LGBTQ+ communities. The aim of these programs is to provide a sense of community and empowerment to these vulnerable communities which often feel disconnected from society. As a USAF veteran and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the uniquely multifaceted struggles vulnerable communities face here in ��������. After experiencing the transformative effects of community and empowerment at ��������, I developed a yearning to lift others up who are currently enduring struggles with their identity and placement in society.

In my spare time, I continue to volunteer and shadow physicians at the South Central Foundation clinics in Anchorage alongside the Anchorage VA Hospital. Since I began volunteering and shadowing in 2022, I have become drawn to the patient experience and �������� to the voices of the people these healthcare systems serve. My goal is to one day be a physician that incorporates the voices of the people I serve within my practice to ensure their voices are heard and the healthcare they receive is culturally safe and patient owned. 

I am an incoming second-year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I was born in the Philippines and grew up in Ninilchik, ��������. Within ��������, I found wonderful academic opportunities, conducting neurobiology research on C.elegans through the BLaST research program. I also had leadership roles within the �������� Pre-Medical Society for most of my undergraduate career and was involved in the Honors Student Advisory Council. During my senior year, I received a scholarship to study abroad in Seville, Spain and graduated in 2019 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a B.A. in Foreign Languages, with a concentration in Spanish.

After graduation, I participated in a research program at the University of Rochester Medical Center for the summer and spent my gap years working at a community clinic in my hometown of Ninilchik. I am grateful for the mentorship from incredible faculty at �������� and the university’s supportive culture for inspiring me to pursue my studies across disciplines, which ultimately solidified my desire to pursue medicine. Currently, I am spending time in Hawassa, Ethiopia conducting a research project on thecountry’s surgical system.

Attending the University of �������� Fairbanks was personally and professionally the best decision I ever made. Having grown up in Anchorage, I fell in love with Interior �������� when I came up to visit family in Healy and Fairbanks. My grandmother was born in Fairbanks, and moving north to attend �������� was a homecoming a generation in the making.

Since graduating in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, I have remained active in the University community, and in our community at-large. I have worked in the non-profit sector for the American Lung Association and as the executive director of the Tanana Valley Watershed Association. I have also worked in both in the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District as a substitute teacher, and in various roles at the University of �������� including most recently working as an adjunct faculty at the �������� Community and Technical College. My experience as a substitute teacher inspired me to run for the Fairbanks North Star Borough School Board in 2016. Although I did not win, it was a great experience that got me connected with local and state policy makers.

In 2017, I went down to Juneau to work in our State Capitol, kickstarting my next six years working as a legislative staffer. In 2020, I graduated from UAA with a master’s degree in public health. In 2022, I decided to run for the �������� State House. As a lifelong ��������n, I want to see �������� thrive by investing in a future that helps young ��������ns choose our state for their long-term future. The University of �������� Fairbanks put me on a track to success. Ensuring robust, consistent state funding for higher education remains one of my highest priorities as a lawmaker, and something I will continue to pour my heart into achieving.

Hi, my name is KC Casort. I graduated from the �������� Climate Scholars Program in 2020 with an interdisciplinary B.S. in Climate Resilience & Adaptation and minors in Political Science and Natural Resources Management.

After graduating, I dabbled in cold climate research and grant writing before becoming the Fairbanks Organizer with Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates - �������� (PPAA - ��������). My work centered on mobilizing Interior �������� residents to take action for accessible health care and LGBTQ+ rights for all ��������ns.

Now, I serve as the �������� Field Manager with PPAA - ��������, managing statewide campaigns in defense of abortion and birth control access, queer and trans rights, and working with coalition partners at the intersection of bodily autonomy and climate change, Indigenous rights, police accountability, and more. I accidentally adopted a people-loving cat, Tulip, enjoy rock climbing, and am currently in the process of (re)building a house in Fairbanks.

I recently graduated from the University of �������� Fairbanks, having also grown up in Fairbanks for most of my life. During my time at ��������, I became a part of the Film and Performing Arts department,  the Honors College, and the Climate Scholars program. Through these opportunities, I became immersed in several clubs and Intensives. This includes going to the Inian Islands for a week-long climate Intensive, becoming President of the �������� Film Club, Vice President of the �������� Climate Club, and filming the Bonanza Creek Intensive.

Since graduating, I am in the process of finishing two films that are both in the post-production phase. I’ll also be applying for writer’s residencies and film internships in both �������� and the Lower 48. My long-term goals will be to finish feature-length scripts and keep producing short films. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies as well as supporting Manchester United.

My name is Feyne Elmore and I am from Anchorage, ��������, and Katy, Texas. I graduated from �������� in 2021 with my Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Ocean Science. I graduated as an Honors Scholar and Climate Scholar. While at ��������, I worked as an Honors Peer Mentor and got to assist in the implementation of the Northstar College. I also participated in multiple URSA projects that allowed me to conduct my own research projects in Homer and Prudhoe Bay, ��������. Both my Honors College experience and research experience allowed me to boost my resume.

I currently work for the State of �������� Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) as an Environmental Program Specialist in the Drinking Water Program. At ADEC, I complete data analysis and enforce state and federal drinking water regulations to ensure the provision of safe drinking water to the public. I get to travel across the State to attend conferences and complete inspections of public water systems. I consider myself lucky to be able to use my degree to travel the State to protect public health and love that I am able to interact with ��������ns from all over the State every day!

I graduated �������� with a bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Marine Sciences and a minor in Foreign Language. I was also an Honors and Climate Scholar, which led to many opportunities for me. I am currently working as a Climate Communication Intern for the �������� Native Tribal Health Consortium, traveling out to remote communities and writing about climate change in ��������.

After this summer, I am moving to Canada where I will pursue my Master of Science in Science Communication. I plan to work on climate and environmental writing to educate the public on conservation issues. I'm happy that �������� afforded me so many opportunities while I was there, and I'm excited to see where life takes me!

I came to �������� in Fall 2019 and immediately got drawn in by the great people at CEM Geologic Engineering and the Honors College. In the beginning of my educational journey, the Honors College, and later the Climate Scholars Program, were instrumental in getting me involved in many different projects, including a CSP intensive at the Tidelines Institute, and making great connections with projects at ACEP. I now work at ACEP in geospatial sciences, and plan on continuing on geospatial work into the future. 

I graduated with distinction from the Climate Scholars program in May 2024 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. I worked for three years at the �������� Department of Transportation as a design intern on the Americans with Disability Act Reconnaissance Project and the Crooked Creek Bridge Replacement Project, among other assignments.

I served as the American Society of Civil Engineers �������� Chapter Vice President and the 2024 project manager of the �������� Ice Arch. I was also an active member of Tau Beta Pi.

I am starting my engineering career this fall in Scotland, focusing on coastal resilience and mitigating the impact of climate change on infrastructure. I plan to return to �������� in the future to continue working on these issues. I hope to incorporate lessons learned in the Climate Scholars program in my forthcoming career.

I graduated as a University Honors Scholar in spring of 2023 with Bachelor of Arts in Film & Performing Art, Justice, and Political Science. Since graduation, I have returned to my hometown of Seward, ��������, and am working my two seasonal jobs in order to make money for my final semester of my undergraduate degree, which will be this upcoming fall.

I am currently in the process of studying and preparing for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) and will be taking the exam within the next few months. In my down time, I am spending as much time as possible with family, friends, and other loved ones, as well as getting active outside. Additionally, I plan on auditioning for shows with community theatre companies, as theatre is a significant hobby of mine. The following fall, Fall 2024, I aim to begin law school–location pending–and work toward my juris doctorate (JD).
